Taking care of your brain, your nervous system and your immunity thanks to adaptogenic plants: could this be the secret to living better in autumn-winter?
For many, the transition to the cold season is synonymous with fatigue and low mood. If this transition is never easy for me either, it also coincided this year with a period of overwork from which I emerged emotionally exhausted, with typical consequences: return of my allergies, eczema, anxiety, reactive skin, immunity at half mast with chronic sore throats…
It is in this context that I began a small treatment of mixtures with adaptogenic and medicinal plants from Super Noura young Lyon brand that I already spoke to you about a few months ago.
After about ten days already, I noticed fairly clear improvements, as if (without completely disappearing, we don't work miracles!) all my symptoms were slightly easing: I was able to do without most of them. during my treatments for eczema and allergies, my sore throat disappeared, my skin calmed down, and my anxiety remained at a fairly mild level, to the point where I didn't feel the need to take CBD (of which I am normally quite a consumer during this type of period).
This is not the first time that I have noticed how certain foods and plants can have direct influences on health and well-being (particularly with regard to inflammatory phenomena, therefore stress, skin problems, immunity, hormonal health, etc.). I am more than convinced of this – although of course the exact answer of each organization may differ.
In this sense, Super Nour products seem to me to be an interesting option to know, especially for people who wish to improve their physical well-being (menstrual pain, inflammation, etc.), their mental energy, or promote their serenity.
THE ADAPTOGENIC AND MEDICINAL PLANTS OF SUPER NOUR
Adaptogenic plants are plants that promote general health by helping the body to regulate its responses to stress: they rebalance its metabolism (regulation of cortisol, reduction of fatigue, improvement of mood, etc.) and strengthen its overall resistance to stress factors. assault.
There are currently around twenty known. Many of them have been used for hundreds of years in traditional medicines (Chinese, Ayurvedic, Native American, etc.) but research has only studied them since the mid-20th century. Today, this study by A. Panossian and H. Wagner constitutes the main reference concerning their mechanisms of action and their benefits.
Super Nour formulas include two major adaptogenic plants:
- Maca. Also called Peruvian ginseng, it is known for its stimulating and energizing properties, which improve physical resistance and boost the immune system. It also has a beneficial influence on mood.
- Ashwagandha. Widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, this plant is renowned for its beneficial action on sleep, against stress and against anxiety. It also offers anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant benefits.
Medicinal mushrooms are key elements of traditional Chinese medicine, which uses them to promote overall health (immunity, serenity, energy), but also in the treatment of various infections.
Although scientific research is still underway on this subject to better understand how to use them, several studies already seem to demonstrate immunomodulatory, anti-microbial and antioxidant properties (source), as well as interesting benefits in the fight against cancer (source), in connection with their high polysaccharide content.
Super Nour currently uses two medicinal mushrooms:
- Reishi. Longevity mushroom according to Chinese medicine, it is considered an excellent regulator of the immune system, a tonic and a fortifier, with anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and protective properties for the cardiovascular system.
- Chaga. Originally from Siberia where it has long been used as a traditional remedy, this mushroom provides an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and stimulatory action for the immune system.
MA CURE SUPER NOUR
The two formulas that I use for this fall cure can be consumed separately, or combined. It is recommended to take 1 teaspoon every day for a few weeks (knowing that one packet contains approximately 30 doses).
♡ Holistic Mix (26€)
In this formula, reishi mushroom and maca are combined with raw cocoa – a superfood rich in minerals, known for its balancing properties for the nervous system: it boosts the production of serotonin (the happiness hormone) but also promotes energy, cognitive performance and memory. It is also a good anti-inflammatory and an excellent source of antioxidants. The synergy of the three ingredients is therefore particularly relevant!
In terms of taste and texture, it is undoubtedly the most pleasant and easy to use on a daily basis, since it simply looks like cocoa powder, with a little caramelized malt taste coming from the maca. It can therefore easily be drunk with vegetable milk, for example, or sprinkled on a dessert. It goes particularly well with maple syrup, coconut sugar and cinnamon in my opinion!
♡ Bliss Mix (26€)
This is Super Nour's most recent formula, based on reishi, chaga and organic date sugar – a natural, unrefined sweetener, prepared from simple dried and crushed dates.
Contrary to what one might imagine, its flavor does not necessarily evoke mushrooms: I sense slightly woody notes, with a very slight bitterness, softened by the more fruity and caramelized taste of the dates. Mixed in a smoothie, compote or yogurt, you hardly notice it – so much so that I adopted it without any difficulty.
The properties of this mixture are also very interesting for winter: the two medicinal mushrooms boost the immune system while soothing the nervous system and inflammatory phenomena.

WELL-BEING RECIPES
with Super Nour powders
Buckwheat-hazelnut porridge with Holistic Mix
A true morning superfood, this gluten- and dairy-free anti-inflammatory porridge allows you to stock up on energy while offering a low to moderate glycemic index, which will not create cravings.
Thanks to the combination of buckwheat, hazelnuts and Holistic Mix, it is rich in magnesium and potassium (two essential minerals to soothe the effects of stress), B group vitamins and anti-oxidants, which makes it excellent for the brain and nervous system.
Complete your bowl with a little fruit (for example a banana or an apple) for a complete and vitamin-filled breakfast!
- 200mL of vegetable milk of your choice
- 30g buckwheat flakes
- 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar
- 1 tablespoon of hazelnut puree
- 1 teaspoon of Holistic Mix
Pour the milk, flakes and sugar into a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture has thickened (2-3 minutes). Turn off the heat, pour in the hazelnut puree and Holistic Mix powder. Mix well, add a little milk if necessary to make the texture less thick, and serve immediately.
Red fruit smoothie with Bliss Mix
This smoothie, which I find perfect in the morning to start the day off right, or after a physical exercise session, increases the properties of Bliss Mix tenfold thanks to a choice of perfectly complementary ingredients.
Very rich in anti-oxidants (both almonds and red fruits, banana and Bliss Mix contain them in interesting quantities, of different types) and a good source of vitamin C, it is also anti-inflammatory and remineralizing – particularly with a good contribution of magnesium, essential anti-stress and anti-fatigue, as well as potassium, which plays a key role in the body's acid-base balance.
- 1 banana
- 100g frozen red fruits
- 1 tablespoon of almond puree
- 1 teaspoon of Bliss Mix
- 150mL of coconut water
Pour all the ingredients into a blender, and blend at high speed until you obtain a smooth and creamy consistency. Adjust the quantity of liquid if necessary. Enjoy immediately to benefit from all the vitamins in your smoothie!
Latte au Holistic Mix
If there were only one left, it would be this one! This is the simplest way to enjoy Holistic Mix, and undoubtedly my favorite in the cold season, as the result is so close to a delicious hot chocolate.
The relaxing, anti-stress and cognitive properties of Holistic Mix combine perfectly with cinnamon, which is also anti-inflammatory and excellent for the immune system (ideally it should be consumed every day to limit winter ailments!) and mental performance, in addition to being a natural muscle relaxant.
- 250mL of vegetable milk
- 1 teaspoon of maple syrup
- 1 nice pinch of cinnamon powder (or more!)
- 1 teaspoon of Holistic Mix
Heat your milk in a saucepan, or in an electric milk frother. Meanwhile, pour the Holistic Mix, cinnamon and maple syrup into a cup, then mix vigorously until you obtain a smooth paste. When the milk is hot, pour in a very small amount first to emulsify the cocoa paste and avoid lumps, then pour in the rest, mixing well. Enjoy hot.
