Apart from a few details (especially the belt and the earrings which are very 80's), today's outfit reminds me of the preppy silhouettes of the late 60s or early 70s – like Brianna in Outlander . It's a style to which I often return and which is also found several times on the pages of this blog, since it seems timeless to me.
This is undoubtedly one of my favorite aspects of vintage fashion: there are classic combos that have proven themselves, and on which you can always count on without being outdated, season after season!
The set brings together several of my favorite finds from recent years: my oversized Irish turtleneck sweater, of which I love the cut and the mottled oatmeal color (much more becoming on me than the beige-yellow commonly used in knitwear aran), my vintage Dior clutch bought from a little lady for €100 (I'll let you compare with current prices…!), or my patent ankle boots with a very 70's shape, found almost new on Vinted in 2019 and which I love still as much since.
I paired it with my new buttoned trapeze skirt from Atelier Tuffery – a favorite brand that I have already told you about on Instagram recently.
Pioneers of denim in France via their ancestor Célestin, who founded the house in Florac in 1982, the Tuffery family has preserved its tailor-maker know-how over the generations (and despite the profound upheavals of the textile industry in the 20th century). century). Even today, they produce superb denim pieces in their Cévennes workshop, the quality of which is evident at first glance. And if you can go directly to the workshop boutique, alterations are free!
This skirt also very well illustrates their conscious and responsible manufacturing approach: its canvas is made of 50% European hemp, an extremely ecological fiber which reduces the environmental impact of the garment compared to a pure cotton canvas. I really like its comfort and its raw heather color!
