A few weeks ago, the online beauty site MyOrigines asked me to choose a few references to test from their catalog.
In addition to perfumes (their great specialty), the eshop offers many natural products in different styles and at attractive prices: organic parapharmacy brands, such as Sanoflore, Cattier, but also small independent brands like zero waste cosmetics Lamazunaand even American references that I love like John Masters Organics or Hurraw.
Today I am coming to share with you my opinion on the four organic cosmetic items that I have chosen, hoping that you will make one or two great discoveries, and that my feedback will be useful to you!
This special shampoo for fine hair, organic and sulfate-free (so very gentle on the scalp), is a reference that I had already used a few years ago, and that I wanted to rediscover on the occasion of this selection – especially as a more practical alternative to my solid shampoo after oil baths!
Formulated from a patented natural complex with sheathing and flexibility properties (Natura-tec Abysoft), it promises an instant volume effect, airier and denser hair, while providing a lot of softness to the hair fiber.
Contrary to what we can sometimes fear from a sulfate-free shampoo, I find this one really effective: it lathers extremely well, and its very fluid consistency is easily distributed over the entire scalp.
Once dry, the hair actually has more “body”, as if it were a little thicker, which is very appreciable; there is also a soft and airy effect which, if it is important at the roots, I like a little less on the lengths where I try on the contrary to avoid the vaporous side, in favor of well-formed waves. In this sense, it may be more suitable for people with straight hair! Finally, the volume effect unfortunately doesn't last on me after a night's sleep – but this is the case for most shampoos of this type.
In short, this product is not a favorite, but it will be very suitable for the use I intended to make of it, or as a emergency when I run out of my usual solid shampoo – especially since its price remains very reasonable in my opinion !
I, who for several years have paid particular attention to protecting my face against the sun, recently realized (and not without horror!) that I never applied sun care to my lips – constantly exposed to the rays, therefore, even in the middle of summer.
The organic lip balms from the American brand Hurraw have been my favorites for many years for their 100% natural, vegan compositions and based on cold-pressed ingredients, I took advantage of this MyOrigines order to equip myself with their Sun Lip Balm SPF15 broad spectrum.
The formulation of this stick is a little richer than that of the rest of the range, to guarantee longer-lasting hold, which makes it particularly nourishing and protective – I love it! Its tangerine and vanilla scent is also very pleasant.
The only downside perhaps, and you will notice it in my photo: the presence of zinc oxide without nano-particles as a sun filter creates a whitening veil upon application, as if you were wearing a pale pink lipstick. Although it doesn't look very nice on me (my lips are naturally very pigmented, so the contrast is strange), it can work on certain skin tones – but it risks accentuating the yellowish appearance of the teeth. To avoid this effect, simply wear a little tinted balm or lipstick on top, and that's it!
The oldest among you certainly know that I have known and supported the Lamazuna brand since its beginnings! So I was delighted to find her on MyOrigines.
My order was the opportunity to discover one of their new products: cold saponified soaps, a format of which I am a big fan. Their attractive price, as well as their local, vegan and certified organic compositions, made me want them. It is rare not to find exotic ingredients (notably vegetable butters) in soaps, and here, the feat is notable: 100% of the ingredients were sourced less than 800km from their offices in Drôme, and only the Sweet almond oil is not produced in France!
This Gentle version is perfect in particular for delicate skin thanks to its soothing ingredients (sweet almond oil, red clay) and the absence of perfume or essential oil. There is also a relaxing version with lavandin, and the other with cypress, which is invigorating.
After a few uses, my first impressions are really good: I LOVE its natural, old-fashioned olive oil soap scent, which inspires me with a lot of nostalgia, and I find it extremely emollient for the skin . The foam is fine, very nourishing. It seems perfect to me, and if it doesn't melt too quickly, I won't hesitate to order more in the future!
♡ SANOFLORE SUPREME HONEY MOISTURIZING BODY MILK
With an organic, natural and rather simple composition, but a sensoriality worthy of a classic perfumery treatment, this moisturizing milk is in my opinion a perfect compromise which can please all audiences – even people who are not yet fans (or very knowledgeable) of “green” cosmetics.
I find that it offers a real pleasure of use at all levels, and makes you want to take care of yourself regularly. First of all, its scent, between honey and tiare, is absolutely divine: it reminds me of summer, the beach, vacations, while remaining quite discreet once applied. The texture is richer than a classic fluid milk, without being greasy: it spreads easily on the skin and is quickly absorbed, leaving a satiny, non-sticky finish. Finally, it is effective in softening and softening the skin on a daily basis, without creating irritation or tingling, even on dry, slightly sensitive areas like my legs or my chapped hands.
Approved, and adopted!
