Hello mes fashionistas
I hope you're doing well ! It seems like an eternity since I wrote an article here… My image consulting activity having increased since the end of 2022, I haven't had the time to devote myself to the blog as I do. I would have liked but I hope to resume my usual rhythm of two articles per month! Today, I offer you three seasonal looks in neutral colors of beige, gray and black, because although I am a fan of color, I sometimes wear more sober outfits in winter. What do these looks have in common? No new clothes, only second-hand pieces or from the (very) old collection.
This month marks my 4 years of stopping fast fashion and I hardly buy new ones anymore. You will also notice that I am wearing the same pair of boots: faithful to my approach to responsible consumption, I apply the BISOU methodan acronym imagined by Marie Duboin and Herveline Giraudeau in their essay “ Responsible consumption abuse makes you happy! »: B = need, I = immediate, S = similar, O = origin, U = useful. Five questions to ask yourself before a shopping trip to avoid compulsive purchases, preserve your wallet and protect the planet!
1. Perfect in simili leather
Those who follow me assiduously already know all the items that make up this first look, the highlight being my vintage dress from the 2000s, made in France: a typical model of the brand France’s Fashion Paris with its straight cut, its wide tank top-style straps and its slit left side which make it an always trendy piece. I really like the quality of the thick, slightly satiny fabric, but it's the leopard print that really appealed to me. the originality of the pattern in a gradient of grey-green, cream and black which harmonizes with my Cold Summer colorimetry.
A thermolactyl tank top helped me cope with the cold because it's a summer dress twisted into a winter version. For a rock spirit inspiration, I combined it with a perfecto and I played on the contrast of materials between the peach skin velvet of the pleated boots and the shagreen effect grained leather of the bag, a typical “baguette” shape from the 90s-2000s which is making a comeback this season.

2. Faux fur jacket
This faux fur jacket is a garage sale find for only three euros, a vintage nugget from the 70s and 80s in synthetic hair imitating the Arctic wolf. Paired with a leopard print mini dress, it creates a modern and trendy combo. Under the leadership of English designer Stella McCartney, faux fur is now omnipresent in collections. However, if it represents a great advance against animal abuse, it is still very linked to fast fashion and is therefore not THE ultimate solution.
Indeed, made from acrylic – a plastic material derived from petroleum – it is less durable than real fur, not biodegradable and not yet recyclable (source www.thegoodgoods.fr). The debate between pro and anti fur still has good days ahead of him! Personally, I own several jackets in each quality (real and fake), but always bought second hand, never new.

3. Knitted wool coat
Make no mistake, this original coat found at garage sales is extremely warm because it is made of 100% wool, lined and quilted, a real blanket! And the cherry on the cake, it has a large hood that extends its collar. I have no idea of its origin because there is no label but given the finishes, I think it is a hand-knitted garment, artisanally made.
The neutral colors, the raw wool probably from llama, and its ethnic patterns remind me of typical South American jackets (Peru and Bolivia) which make it possible to withstand the harsh temperatures of the Andes. A unisex piece that I borrowed from my darling and which is reminiscent of Marilyn's famous Mexican vest, to which I devoted an article. To highlight it, I added a western touch with the burgundy fedora and pleated boots which complete the bohemian-inspired style.
