Beauty Discoveries #37

Beauty Discoveries #37

It is with great enthusiasm that I meet with you today for a new selection of my “beauty discoveries” – my favorites and best recent cosmetic discoveries – because I am particularly happy to present the six references below!

On the program: several small, innovative and committed French brands that are really worth the detour, a pretty summer perfume and a cult Swedish brand that has intrigued me for a long time.

If you like to discover new organic, natural and vegan references from time to time, I hope that my detailed opinions will be useful to you, and that all of this will inspire you. Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions, or would like more details on any of these products!

Beauty Discoveries #37

Sureau sea salt body scrub L:A Bruket*

It took me years to test this Swedish brand, which has caught my eye since the first time I came across it at & Other Stories – but it's now done thanks to this Cosmos certified scrub! I, who am very little fan of exfoliating body treatments (I generally use a simple brush for the sake of economy and ecology), I loved this one both for its simplicity, its sensoriality and especially its 2-in-1 aspect: we exfoliate as much as we nourish the skin.

From the elderberry range, it is minimalist in its composition, as I like, with a mixture of sea salt, vegetable oils (sweet almond, rapeseed, safflower, sunflower), and essential oils or other plant extracts . Its scent is mainly lemony, very fresh and luxurious at the same time. The texture is sandy and oily, with grains of salt that are neither too large nor too fine. Take some in your hand, rub it all over the body, then rinse: only the grains of salt disappear, leaving a thin layer of oil and a delicate lemony scent on the skin. Once delicately dried, it is of course particularly soft, but also very supple and well nourished. A perfect double gesture for me which hydrates my body very poorly!

It's a shame, however, that the price is so high: despite the quality of the ingredients, €42 is a lot for a type of product whose principle can be reproduced in a DIY version. I still happily keep it for a (self)gift as it gives me the impression of a real spa treatment!

Oil Vanilla Me Mira*
In collaboration with Mira

What joy is this oil naturally infused with bourbon vanilla! For the huge vanilla lover that I am (it is by far my favorite spice, so sweet!), it was obvious: I absolutely needed it. Mira did me the pleasure of sending me a bottle, and as expected, it's crazy love: it smells delicious!

Mira is an excellent small brand of natural and unprocessed vegetable oils (unrefined, unfiltered, etc.), from the most classic to the most original, cultivating a special link with Madagascar. Many of their ingredients are sourced on the island – when they do not come from French producers. Their spirit is very transparent, with clear information on the origins of their products and their suppliers, which is very appreciable. Good point also for their prices, which remain very affordable, with references ranging between €4.90 and €11.90 per bottle.

My vanilla oil being a more luxurious product (a real piece of vanilla pod is also included in each bottle to reinforce the maceration!), it is a little more expensive with a price of €17.90 – but the The duration of use of the bottle, from which you only take a few drops at a time, is worth it.

The maceration carried out in cold-pressed jojoba oil (regulating, softening, non-greasy finish) makes this oil very qualitative and suitable for all skin types for the face. Its properties are also those of vanilla, which is healing, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory: perfect for a beautiful skin effect, reduced imperfections and anti-aging prevention. I apply it in the evening mixed with my moisturizer, and in fact, I find my skin visibly soothed in the morning.

To recommend with your eyes closed to all vanilla fans!

Palette to personalize MOOD BOX Irisé Paris*
In collaboration with Irisé Paris

If, like me, you like to keep a fairly minimalist and compact makeup bag, the concept of a personalized palette will certainly speak to you! The MOOD BOX from Irisé Paris is based precisely on this principle: a compartment to fill with the elements you want (from a selection of shades of foundation, blush and eye shadow) to have everything or almost everything in a small box.

I was lucky enough to be able to put together mine to discover the brand: because I almost never wear foundation, I only included a blush (Zeste de Cuivre, which I find lends itself well to summer), and four shades of eye shadow in neutral tones (Neige Rosée which also serves as a highlighter, Marron Glacial, Cacao Spicy and Faux Airs de Verts). Everything is made in France with natural compositions, without preservatives, perfume or silicone.

The texture of these powders is really very successful: they are ultra fine and light, but also very soft and velvety, so that they blend particularly well on the skin. Plus, they mix really well with each other, giving the palette even more potential. I also find the hold very good: even in the creases of the eyes, no unsightly clumps to report!

Finally, this type of rechargeable system of course limits waste, which is appreciable. The brand even offers to return our refill cups to them, at their expense, so that they can have a second life: a nice approach, to be welcomed!

Agua LOEWE eau de toilette

I saw this perfume on Instagram, and the description that was given immediately spoke to me: a cool shower in summer, a lemon gin & tonic on the terrace after a long hot day at the beach. My very sensitive sense of smell makes me extremely picky about perfumes (the vast majority disgust me because they are too sweet, too heady…), I have always worn the same one for years: it is the only one that never tires of me. However, I really like testing summer fragrances in samples, especially for the holidays, just for a little change!

I absolutely do not regret having tried this one, because it is indeed a little marvel: it reminds me of a fresh, lemony and energizing shower gel, with notes of citrus and green tea. What pep! The base notes that remain on the skin are at the same time aquatic, powdery and sweet, quite warm but always with a certain citric freshness.

I don't think I could use it on a daily basis without getting tired of it (if only my nose were less delicate!), however I am happy to spray it on my wrists these days for a guaranteed touch of good humor, and I warmly invite you to go and smell it!

Niu After-Sun Mist*

Natural and organic, packaged in a recycled aluminum bottle made in France, this after-sun mist is a great discovery used with pleasure these last few days of good weather!

Its extra fine, almost gel-like texture is extremely refreshing, notably thanks to a composition rich in humectant ingredients: it provides a noticeable boost of freshness and hydration to the skin after exposure, and is also very pleasant in case of slight sunburn. I also really like its spray format which creates very fine sprays. For a price that I find reasonable (€9.95), it’s flawless!

Finally, note that the Niu brand supports the cleaning and preservation of marine environments, in particular by donating funds to specialized NGOs for each product sold.

Cream facial care*

I told you about it on Instagram a few days ago, but it's well worth mentioning here too, as I enjoyed discovering it so much: the Krème face range is one of my recent favorites!

The concept of the brand is to offer organic and natural cosmetic care, vegan, but also fresh (therefore from small regular productions), without preservatives (the formulas are preserved thanks to a good bacterial balance, natural anti-microbials and a reduced water content), allergen-free (this is rare in organic cosmetics!), and enriched with probiotics. These choices aim mainly to respect and strengthen the skin flora, the bacterial balance of which is absolutely essential – both to avoid a number of small dermatological problems and to maintain the barrier function of the skin against external aggressions.

Krème's environmental approach is also particularly appreciable, with very local sourcing of ingredients (French plants, etc.), manufacturing in different regions of France, and containers that avoid plastic: aluminum tubes, glass bottles. Not bad !

As for the products themselves, I find them very pleasant to use. The cleansing jelly has an incredible texture, extremely dense and melting, which transforms into oil on the skin and absolutely does not dry out the epidermis. Combined with the balancing oil (the green scent of which I love), the moisturizing cream, with a very fresh and soft texture, works well to leave my skin soothed and hydrated without any greasy finish. Be careful, however, this cream alone is not sufficient for dry or dehydrated skin: a combination with an oil is essential.

To remember if you are looking for a simple but intelligently formulated, and very committed natural and organic routine! FYI, code MANGO&SALT15 works until June 17 for -15%.
