Beauty Discoveries #39

Beauty Discoveries #39

Here I am already back today with new beauty discoveries! The end of summer and then the start of the school year having been rich in cosmetic tests (this is one of the fun tasks that I carry out behind the scenes throughout the year!), I was able to split my feedback into two parts – of which here is the second opus.

On the program as always, a lot of diversity: makeup (very accessible and more premium), facial treatments for sensitive skin, and a perfect hair mask.

I hope any of these references are helpful to you!Beauty Discoveries #39

Marilou Bio* monoi detangling hair mask
In partnership with Marilou

Two things have revolutionized my hair in recent months: one, I discovered this perfect mask, and two, I started using it also on towel-dried hair, like a cream. I am absolutely delighted with it, since thanks to it, my waves are much better defined and well nourished without losing any volume!

I love everything about this product: the organic formulation, the French manufacturing, the rich, very dense and creamy texture, the monoï scent, and especially its effect on my fine hair.

Applied as a conditioner and left on for 2-3 minutes, I find it very detangling, smoothing, but also very strengthening! My lengths seem both denser and softer, they have more “body”. Used as a styling cream with the “scrunch” technique to better define my waves, it is also very effective: my hair frizzes less, it shines, the curls are prettier, and they remain quite well defined even after 3-4 nights on sleep on it.

Above all, although they are very sensitive to the slightest heaviness, they retain their natural volume, even when combining both uses – a point to which I am very keen.

In short, flawless! I very happily recommend it to you, especially since I am apparently not the only one who appreciates it: it received the 2020 prize for best organic product in its category, which does not surprise me at all.

Lavera liquid eyeliner

Every year, it's the same thing: while I usually settle for a little pencil and mascara for my daily makeup (and even then, not every day!), I'm suddenly overcome by an obsession for black liquid eyeliner. This phase generally occurs during the fall-winter period, and as long as it lasts (a few weeks), I want to wear eyeliner every day.

Currently in the middle of one of these phases, I bought the Lavera version, which so far constitutes my favorite natural reference – along with that of Charlotte Bio.

If I admit to regretting its old format a little, with a felt tip that I found a little easier to master, I nevertheless still like its formula as much: the shade is very black and perfectly opaque, it does not run in any way. creases, and lasts all day if left untouched. At the same time, it is extremely easy to remove makeup; I therefore suppose that it is better to avoid it on eyes that tear a lot during the day, because it is not at all waterproof!

For such a low price (from €4-5 online, and around €8 in stores), I'm delighted!

Crème radiance facial exfoliant*

Clearly, the Krème brand (discovered a few months ago) never ceases to seduce me! Here is another very nice discovery in their catalog: the first grained scrub that I have adopted for several years because it is delicate – I had avoided them until now on my reactive skin!

This product with an absolutely divine texture (a sort of jelly which gently melts into powdery oil on the skin) combines the exfoliating power of an extremely fine rice powder, both effective and very respectful of the epidermis, with the properties good glow from vitamin C and apricot. Of course, as with their entire range, balancing pre- and probiotics for the skin flora are also integrated into the formula.

I use it by massaging the jelly onto dry skin, before leaving it on for a few minutes, then rinsing. Between the texture, the scent and the pretty orange color, what a pleasure for the senses! The result is clear: the skin is smoother, softer and fresher, without showing signs of irritation.

As usual, I also really appreciate the brand's very committed production choices: organic ingredients, mainly French (Camargue rice, Roussillon apricot, etc.), manufacturing in Perche for fresh cosmetics, and aluminum tube. Perfection !

EverCalm REN Day Cream

I spoke to you last time about the crisis of redness that my skin experienced this summer. After feeling much better for several weeks thanks to the Avène soothing cream, which I am currently finishing, my face unfortunately seems very reactive again, particularly on the cheeks and on the forehead, especially after cleansing or when I test a new product.

While waiting to successfully identify the problem, my action plan includes even gentler cleansing (Krème balm, Clémence & Vivien oil, etc.), a new course of borage oil capsules, and a cream even more targeted on the redness – REN’s EverCalm, which was recommended to me by my Mom.

After a few days of use, my first impressions are very good: the texture is rich enough to comfort the skin without making me shine, the scent is pleasant, and above all, it really seems to minimize inflammatory reactions. Ideally, I would also like it to improve the small areas of rosacea that I have on my cheeks, where my sensitivity is increased tenfold: to be continued!

In terms of composition, we are looking at highly natural, vegan, but not completely perfect: I notably spotted phenoxyethanol, an ingredient commonly used by the brand but which I usually prefer to avoid, especially in non-rinsed products (suspicion of endocrine disruption). For this reason, I do not think I will adopt it in the long term once my reactivity problem is resolved.

GRESSA Minimalist foundation

While my reserves of FitGlow's Vita-Active foundation (my favorite so far) are ending, I took advantage of a recent order on MonCornerB to take samples of another reference that I had been hearing about since long: Gressa's serum foundation.

My complexion was still slightly tanned, so I took what I thought was my non-tan shade (2.5, a light neutral), and one shade above in the neutral category (4.5) so that I could modulate the color over time. weeks.

My first impressions of this product are so good that I decided to order a bottle for this winter!

The texture is very fluid, almost liquid, but the pigmentation is very powerful: all it takes is a tiny quantity (the equivalent of 2 drops), which I personally mix with my day cream, to even out the face with a slightly powdery but still translucent, therefore natural. For absolutely perfect coverage (on imperfections for example), you can use more product. In any case, the hold lasts all day without problem.

Finally, I am seduced by the care aspect of this product, whose composition is rich in anti-aging, protective and balancing active ingredients (broccoli oil, sea buckthorn, field horsetail, minerals, etc.) – a choice to which I am sensitive and which perfectly suits my skin's needs.

Below, my face with the equivalent of one or two drops mixed with my day cream.
