After more than three months without sharing new beauty discoveries here, I have the pleasure of returning with a bang today with a selection of five gems (some currently being tested, others already widely approved) which deserve a little promote.
On the program: perfect basic hygiene products, hair care and a little makeup – all in a natural and healthy approach, of course!
♡ In Haircare Fortifying Treatment Oil
In partnership with In Haircare
If my hair is generally in good health thanks to regular cuts and a very minimal hairstyling routine (never blow-drying, never straightening or curling, no brushing….), its wavy and fine nature makes it naturally frizzy, even sparkling, if I don't hydrate them in a very specific way.
To complete my usual skincare steps (basically, a lighter version of the curly hair routine typical), I had been thinking for a long time about finding a product that would give a little more body to my lengths, that would nourish them and help seal the hair fibers – but I always feared that the “leave in” creams would weigh them down to the point of losing all my volume.
When the In Haircare brand (notably specialized in afro hair, but not only) offered me this 100% natural, vegan and made in France strengthening oil, I jumped at the chance! Composed of a mixture of oils renowned for their stimulating and conditioning action on the hair (carapate, fenugreek and moringa) and a touch of invigorating peppermint essential oil, it is applied to both the lengths and the scalp.
For me who has fine hair, it will be used as an oil bath mask once or twice a month, and why not, in a very small dose (a few drops) in my “leave in” conditioner to reinforce its action. In any case, I find the application very “clean” and practical thanks to the dosing tip, which only lets out a limited quantity of product – thus avoiding waste.
See you in a few weeks or months for my opinion with the necessary hindsight! I think an update article on my hair routine is necessary anyway: it's been a long time since I mentioned the subject, and I regularly receive questions!
♡ Impeccable Skin SPF30 Suntegrity
After several years of loyal service, Madará's SPF30 tinted sunscreen started to itch last summer, much to my chagrin. My skin being particularly reactive since that time (prone to redness, irritation, etc.), it is very likely that it is more of an internal disturbance than a real sensitivity to the formulation – but in the meantime, I am exploring other options!
This was completely unknown to me until I discovered it on the Bazar Bio website (which kindly allowed me to test it). Suntegrity is an American natural sun care brand founded by a woman whose mother died of melanoma.
Formulated for 100% healthy and safe daily use with a single type of broad-spectrum mineral filter (non-nano zinc oxide), their products preserve the skin beyond simple UVA/UVB protection thanks to active ingredients. which strengthen its natural barrier and fight against environmental aggressions.
Impeccable Skin is their flagship product, and I understand why: both day moisturizer, SPF30 anti-aging sun protection and tinted CC cream, it's a perfect all-in-one product for everyday use when you want both protect yourself, prevent aging, and obtain a beautiful skin effect. Exactly what I was looking for, in short!
I chose the Nude shade by referring to the Bazar Bio visual guide for my fair and neutral complexion, with success; I will probably need the Buff or Tan shade for this summer.
The texture is close to a balm (like many CC creams) but it spreads easily. The color offers light to medium coverage, which can be subtly modulated depending on the quantity of product. Once applied, it evens out the complexion and provides a real smoothing, rejuvenating effect, with a finish that I would describe as satin – very natural because it is not matte, but not greasy either, because it is gradually “absorbed” into the epidermis. Hold throughout the day is very good, even without powder.
If I still refrain from using it every day to avoid spots (I know from experience that the rich side of mineral sunscreens ends up “clogging” my very capricious pores), this treatment is for the moment a big crush on me. I can only recommend it if its properties speak to you, especially if you have dry to combination skin. It's the perfect alternative to my Madará SPF 30 tinted cream, and I'm really happy to have discovered it!
♡ Keep Cool Oolution Deodorant
In partnership with Kazidomi
At the beginning of the year, my stock of favorite deodorant from the Native brand unfortunately ended, while it is no longer possible to order them from Europe. I saw this as an opportunity to find a more local replacement, even if my skin sensitivity, which deprives me of most effective formulas (because they are rich in irritating baking soda), risked complicating the task.
When searching for Cassidy (where I order most of my hygiene and care products organic because it's a little cheaper), I discovered the existence of an Oolution deodorant – a brand that I really appreciate for its precision and the quality of its assets.
The fragrance-free composition seemed intended for sensitive skin, and the reviews I saw were very positive. However, it contained baking soda. Having completed my permanent underarm hair removal process a few months ago (which allows me to avoid all the irritations that regular use of the razor caused me at the time), I took the risk of going for it. try anyway – and luckily, it was a real success!
I appreciate the very practical stick format of this deodorant, but also its formula which is both waxy and melting enough to glide without difficulty on the skin (even in winter, after having warmed it for a few seconds) without offering an overly fat. Above all, its effectiveness has proven to be exemplary for me to date: I don't notice any smell of perspiration at the end of the day, nor practically the next morning before taking my shower (i.e. 24 hours after application). My skin, for its part, tolerates it perfectly: no reaction to report!
I just started my second stick this week, the first having lasted a little over two months. Hopefully it continues to work as well, in which case it will become my new regular deodorant without any hesitation!
NB: Mon code MANGO20 still works for €20 off annual membership Cassidywhich therefore amounts to 60€ instead of 80. It pays for itself so quickly if you buy organic products regularly, I highly recommend their service!
♡ Lulu & Guite cold saponified soaps
You probably know: I'm a big user of cold saponified soaps, both for cleaning my hands (it's effective and less drying!) and for showering. So I’m always keen on new discoveries in this area!
The one I wanted to talk to you about today is the Lulu & Guite brand, which manufactures artisanal SAF soaps in France, superfatted at 8% without palm oil, certified organic and Slow Cosmétique. I was first seduced by their pretty colors (entirely natural of course), and their charming zero waste packaging with floral patterns. After a thorough test, I can also confirm that I really liked their formulation!
My opinion is based in particular on the version Argan & Pink Clay, which I have been using daily for several weeks: I find it extremely gentle on the skin (even quite moisturizing), it lathers very well, finely and generously at the same time, and smells delicious. The other scents are just as pleasant: lavender, lemony, orange… Everything I like!
Another important point in my eyes, especially given the price, which is a little high compared to my habits (€8.90): this soap seems to last longer than average; It doesn't melt very quickly and should last me a few more weeks. So I find that you “get what you pay for” despite everything, and I would not hesitate to buy some again or give some as a gift if I one day visit one of their points of sale !
I've been dreaming of discovering these new cream eyeshadows from RMS Beauty, one of my favorite natural brands, since their release, but without daring to invest. I was afraid that the hold would not be there, knowing the fairly rich formulas that we generally find with the brand (and which don't bother me at all, but on the eyes it's more annoying!) . When Bazar Bio asked me to choose a few products to test, I jumped at the chance to try it!
After much hesitation with the Spark shade, a sort of warm burgundy, I decided on the Halo shade, a little more summery in my opinion. I would describe it as a pretty coppery pinkish beige of medium intensity, which seems to me to suit the majority of skin tones, and highlight all iris colors.
If at first glance, the quantity of product contained in this mini-tube is very limited for the price (only 8.5mL!), I am already certain that it will last a very long time for me who does not use it daily, and who prefers rather subtle looks during the day. In fact, a tiny amount of product is enough to nicely color the upper eyelid with a visible and luminous, but semi-translucent effect. Even to obtain a more intense result in terms of color and coverage, the equivalent of half a grain of rice per eye is more than enough! I appreciate this efficiency, and the possibility of modulating the rendering by adding more or fewer layers.
Finally, I am finally delighted with the wording! If the application must be quick due to the quick drying of the material, you quickly get the hang of it, and blending is easily done with your finger or brush. Then, the color no longer moves at all throughout the day, while removing makeup easily since the composition is not waterproof.
For me, it’s adopted!
